We catch up with our very own Gregory Jewellers Co-CEO, Edward Gregory on what it means to be a father. Edward is father to his two young daughters. He talks about fatherhood, success and parenting during Covid-19.

What does being a Father mean to you?

There is an expression that you start to see the world in colour when you become a parent.

Becoming a father has made me better understand the meaning of life. It has truly given me, a greater purpose for which I am so grateful. My daughters are such a blessing and I am in awe of them every day.

What was the Covid-19 lockdown period like for you as a Dad?

The one silver lining from lockdown, was the precious time spent with my family. We spent hours, bike riding, playing card games, chess, making arts and crafts. The type of simple activities, I normally haven’t made time for when leading the Gregory Jewellers teams and supporting our vast network.

Do you have a piece of jewellery or a watch that represents being a Father?

I have three pink diamonds secretly set in my wedding ring that no can see but only I can feel. One for each of my beautiful daughters and of course my queen wife!

What words of wisdom would you like to share with your daughters for the future?

I want to instil in them to do what you love and what makes you happy. Success comes from hard work and be prepared to fail along the way but be resilient, step up, try again and never give up. Listen to those who love you.

What are you looking forward to this Father’s Day?

I’m looking forward to a relaxing day enjoying the simple things in life with my family for it is these moments in life that matter most!
